GOLD AWARD

Designed by famed architect Vladimir Ossipoff in 1962 for IBM, this

structure is considered an architectural treasure and iconic urban

landmark in Honolulu. Known as the IBM Building, it is recognized

for its distinct concrete honeycomb exterior grille. A $24 million
renovation preserved the building’s distinct concrete brise-soleil and

included complete interior renovations of Levels 1, 2, and 6 of the

building, an addition to the seventh floor rooftop, an open air lanai

addition to the ground floor, and full update of the site’s hardscape

and landscape, eliminating parking to create a courtyard and
community space on the makai side of the building.

The first floor serves as an information center for the master plan,

and was created to allow the community to learn about the past,

present and future of Ward Village. As you move further in the Ward Village

building, the scale models progress in detail, starting with one of Honolulu, HI

In keeping with the future vision for the community, a Native

Hawaiian Garden comprised of indigenous and endemic Native

Hawaiian plants has been planted at the corner of Auahi Street and

Queen Street where the sales center is located.
