This residence represents the beginnings of a revolution in the definition of

“home”. With land becoming increasingly scarce, hi-density single-family
detached lots are largely consumed by the building footprint, leaving little

space for usable outdoor areas. The principle notion for this residence is

to provide functional outdoor use areas that support family living and take

advantage of our mild California climate. The exploration begins at the ground

floor entry as a celebration of the social living spaces, with an open floor

plan and an abundance of natural light. An adjacent private courtyard area
offers extended opportunities for living, dining and entertainment functions, in

useful proportions. The modern farmhouse architecture bursts with traditional

flair, articulated by contemporary details and textural elements. Ascending
